As I left on my last Tasman extravagansa the Captain mentioned to me that he really enjoyed my shots on JetPhotos. I mentioned that I was looking for the perfect one-thousandth shot so we set out on a mission.

Nothing presented itself until we took off from Auckland behind an Air New Zealand A320, both bound for Sydney. We were seperated by 1,000' but our winds varied by up to 30 knots, so soon we saw him on TCAS, then caught sight of this:

As we undertook him I struggled to get a clear shot, but then the winds changed and he overtook us, so I snapped shot number 1000:

The good news is we beat him to Sydney!
