  • Do you think this has a chance of getting on?

Just wanting to know if you think that photo has a chance of getting onto the website.

    Thanks.

Doubt it, it's a touch soft, not level, and it generally lacks contrast.

I've adjusted the contrast, sharpened more and made it straight.

How do you think it looks now?

Still don´t think it will work. It really lacks contrast. Have you tried to adjust the level of the picture ?

I will give it a try later today.

The colours look wrong, its oversharpened a lot (lots of halos and a few jagged edge lines).

A nice shot, but way overexposed and lacking of contrast, as already pointed out. I doubt, that it can be brought to db standards.

              Sorry!

Honestly, I did see the edited version and I still think it looks even worse. Oversharpened, overcontrast,....

In all I think it is backlit and way overexposed. Which makes it hard to bring up to database standards.

So that is what I came up with in 5 minutes. I did not spent my time to find out what would be level on the picture, as the red think in the foreground and the lamp posts in the background seem vertical.

And there is a lot of jpeg compression in it, so that I could attach it to this message.

Working with the fullsize image and spending more time on it, to correct the slight faults in the color and other smaller things, I think it could be safed.

If you have questions ask me or sent me a PM.

The original would be fine to get accepted (IMHO) all it need is a little bit of darkening as it looks a little overexposed and the horizon levelled out. The moded version certainly looks better although personally i think the colours have been made a little too unaturally bright but its certainly an improvement on the original

Don't think there's much chance of this one being saved unless you could post the original...

The horizon is still well off from being level in the second version and IMO there's been abit too much saturation and sharpening added... and that's coming from a guy who loves shots full of saturation and tack sharp! Not to mention the amount of noise and compression that's also in there.

I would relegate this one to the personnal collection. Nice capture i just dont think that it will make the cut here.

                          Cheers, Chris

There seems to be something wrong with the original file.
