  • Flights to YAM (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.)

    Hey Guys,

This question is probably only for the local guys in Canada here but anyone feel free to chime in. Im looking at flights to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (YAM) from YYZ or any other Toronto area airport for that matter. It seems the only way up is with AC Jazz though and they are charging a bloody fortue for that trip (nearly 500 CAN) for a round trip ticket.

I'm wondering if maybe some of you guys know another way up thats maybe a little cheaper, obviously besides driving it. I couldn't find any other airlines serving it but maybe you guys might know of one. It's no problem if you have to connect anywhere either. I'm just looking for a way up thats a little cheaper. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Dave

Northwest Airlines flies to CIU which is on the US side about 20 mins from the Canada border. The price is still a concern last time I checked it was 250-350 us dollars. Oh and its on a Saab 340B aircraft that stops in Pellston or Alpena 1st, they do have a non-stop but it is a seasonal flight.

I love that area up there.

Thanks for the help there, but its almost exactly the same price which more more of a hassle to get there with connections and all. I was looking at Bearskin Airlines but they don't seem to fly anywhere in the Toronto area I believe. Any other airlines I should know about that go up there? Thanks again for your help kcmh.

its a shame there is not better service in that area. With the casino's on the US side and all the woods and camping, and the soo locks, and Lake Superior. Its my 3rd home. Behind SXM and LAS.

Bearskin used to fly into Buttonville with the Pilatus, but they axed that route and only really serve Ottawa (probably the amount of government and aboriginal affairs employees). Kind of out of your way, unless you want to try something new!

AC JAZZ operates 5 Dash-8 flight each weekday (a couple less on the weekend).

Have a look at the bus schedule. You have to remember it takes 9 hours to drive (non-stop).

yeesh! 500! thats a little to much, seems far fetched. Well we wont see westprop any time soon and air creebec only flys in "Creebec".

I would have thought Georgian went there with a 1900D. Guess not Despite looking, I can't even find where to book anything with them.

Westjet served and then pulled out of the city, but the carrier did say it would like to return when the route becomes more viable the carrier has said it would like to link the city with YYZ and YWG.
Fly Edmonton first.Canadas gateway to the north.
