  • Need some help with Aircraft info

I cant ever seem to get military aircraft correct, so if someone could tell me the correct registration for this aircraft and tell me how to to know it would be great. I dont want to upload it without correct info, especially with the long queue waits lately.

    Thanks,
    -Chris

Do you know what this one is? Number reads 89 129. I did some digging on the internet but couldn't find the manufacturing year.

Military aircraft are labeled with the first number of their registration being the last digit of their year of manufacture. Hence, in my case, 89 129, the 8 means the plane was manufactured in 19_8 and in order to find the complete registration number, you need to find the year of manufacture and add the second-to-last digit to the front of registration number. For example, if my F-16 was manufactured in 1978, then the full registration would be 78-9129. If 1988, it would be 88-9129.

Or at least that's what I've been told.....

Dont think its correctly labelled as National Guard, should be USAF.
With reference to http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/1989.html, the only "129"s are:
            89-0129 - Northtrop B-2A
            89-2129 - General Dynamics F16C

There doesnt seem to be any 89-1129 so I guess the most feasible option is 89-2129.

The first two digits are the year of order,
              60-0024 would be a B-52H orderd in 1960.

              example of the C-130^:

              91-9141/9144 Lockheed C-130H Hercules
              9141 (c/n 382-5293)
              9142 (c/n 382-5295)
              9143 (c/n 382-5296)
              9144 (c/n 382-5297)
              So,
91-9141 is the full reg. 1991. Shortend is 19141, in that case you go by the first digit, 1, from 1991.

That would mean the F-16 reg is 89-2129. "General Dynamics F-16C Block 42G Fighting Falcon"
