9W-> 21 weekly flights btwn India and U.K

9W is planning twice daily service between BOM and LHR. W/ BA, Virgin, BMI and AI in the sector, I guess it's safe to say that BOM and LHR will become of the most connected airports to eachother. Jet will also be adding nine to 15 widebodies to its fleet in the coming years, w/ 5 737's being added each year:

Jet Airways plans to operate 21 flights a week between India and the UK in its winter schedule this year. The increased flights come on the back of new liberal bilateral agreements between the two countries. Jet plans to fly twice daily to London Heathrow from Mumbai and once from Delhi.

A while back, 9W was looking at the 772ER, and is still looking at that aircraft. The 343's are on lease for two years, after which they maybe replaced. As for delivery schedule requirements, if it places an order w/ Boeing or ILFC, we'll know soon enough.

Thanks. Interesting you mentioned ILFC cause they just used up all their remaining 777 delivery slots with the 2 772ER's picked-up by KLM. 9W might need to act soon if they want early delivery for 777's. Looks like they havent had much luck so far (timing-wise) in getting 777's.

Does the 777 designation matter if they are leasing throuch ILFC? Can they possibly lease 777-200LRs through the company or are they stuck into leasing ERs? Also, waht about a 787 order form them? If they order in the near future, could they recieve them at the end of the A343 lease?

              Yes

They cannot currently, but that could change.

ILFC has yet to order any 772LRs from Boeing, and since they've now divested the last of their T7 delivery spots to KLM, they also cannot modify any existing orders for conversion to that model either.

'Course, we're very likely to see both ILFC and GECAS place 777 orders in the near term, so that problem may very well rectify its own self.

They'd better hurry, as slots for the first two years are quickly drying up.

                Re:

Since Air India has been the only Indian ILFC customer so far, and is to order 50 aircraft pretty soon, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the aircraft come through ILFC. I think it has already dry-leased some 744's from ILFC. So 9W's running the clock the more days it goes w/o placing an order w/ ILFC, if that's the path it wants to take.
