  • What would be a starting lense for the EOS 300D

    Hello All,

I have just started using my new EOS 300D and so far I am loving it! The problem is when I go spotting I am starting to relize I need a telephoto lense. What are everybody's 2 cents on the Canon 75-300 lense?

Please remember, I just bought this camera so money is tight, so I wouldn't be able to get a lense like some of you use.

I use the 75-300 MKIII and its not a bad entry level lense,
all of these were taken with it, if you have the cash get the one like Dale has with the image stabilisation.
The 75-300 without IS will set you back about £150 / $270approx

Dale doesnt have IS, its the 75-300 III USM, same lense what I have, if you shop around (7dayshop.com) you can get it for just over £120. Bargain really and a really high quality beginners lense!

I'd opt for the IS version if I were you... you won't regret it and at $399 from B&H Photo it is costly but well worth it.... I went for the 300D 75-300IS combo and am getting amazing results!

I have a 300D and the Canon 75-300 III USM and love it. I couldn't justify paying twice as much just to have IS, but my next lens will probably be L glass.
