What is a 32R? It's the aircraft that Northwest has me flying on from Detroit to Minneapolis next week. My gut says it's an A320, but I don't get why they wrote 32R.

Yup, if you plug in one of the flights listed as 32R into Northwest's booking engine you see A320.

      it is indeed an airbus a320 but a different SEAT-config R version....thus the 32R

Northwest has also 32V and 32T versions....

All A320's at NW have the same configuration. The 32V is the aircraft that came installed with video monitors and equipment (first delivered), the R version are ones that have a slightly longer range due to inmprovements. Ill have to double check with that, and give you the official designations.
