  • 300D help.

I just got my 300D this evening and for some reason, as i go to view the photo
i have taken, the LCD screen shows a black screen! As if i've taken a photo of a black wall! It has all the writing such as number of photos the camera has taken in the top right hand corner, and some other info in the bottom left hand corner... its just the picture.
I've check to see if its the battery and its not. I've checked to see if its something on the lens, and again its not.

    Can anyone help me?

    Andy

Could it be that you've set the aperture and shutter in a bad combination therfore making the actual picture black?

Sounds like thats what it could be to me......what mode are you using? Try using full auto and see if you get the same result....if so, there may be something wrong

Does the camera show the image preview just after the shot is captured and then won't let you review it after that, or is it not showing the image at all?

Just because it takes pictures, doesn't mean the aperture and shutter are set properly...

For example, I can take my D70, set the aperture to F/22 and the shutter at 1/8000sec and get a completly black picture...

Maybe it was exposed to a high electromanectic radiation.

Check for any possible solutions in the manual
Test it in Auto Mode, probably you put something wrong.

Oh, BTW, did you remember to remove the lens cap?

I think you better get a clue learn what that "other info" in the bottom left hand corner actually is. It's kinda important.

Hey. Thanks for the help. I took it to Jessops today and it was the LCD screen not working properly.

                      Thanks,
                      Andy
