So the 1200F4L would be around 8Kg and can be used handheld (of course, by an octopus hehe)

      The Canon 1200 has a list price of over $80000 USD.Yes $80000USD!!
Its pretty distinctive in that it has two handles, one on each side.
The lens attached to the body is a 600F4.
He also has a 400/2.8 and it looks like a 300/2.8 on the far side.

        Hmmmm, I want a LR Discovery 3 V6 2006 (MSRP $39,450).

EVEN THE RANGE ROVER IS CHEAPER THAN THE LENS!

        Well, $80,000 is a whole lot, maybe putting a 600F4 and 2x 1.4x extenders (2 1.4x, to make 2.8x) is cheaper

        Here's a pic of the 1200F4L

The lens shown here from the top down are:

            300 F2.8
            500 F4.0
            600 F4.0
            100-400 F4.5-5.6

There is no 1200 F5.6 here, I think Canon only made about 15 of them, Sports Illustrated own 2, last list price in the US was 100,000, they were made to special order only.

You would think a guy with lens like this would at least use a 1 series body!

It has 2 handles so it can be carried like an AK47 or an RPG.

To take a picture, you put it over your shoulder, and with a remote wired release you take the shot, at this point, the SWAT and the ATF are arresting you for unlawful possesion of an explosive device.

For your 100k you get a very hefty tripod and head, you would need two guys to handhold this baby.

Here's some photos of 1200's in action

The "Big Guy" is Canon's largest EOS prime lens, a ridiculously huge 1200mm monstrosity. There are only about ten of these things in existence. Sports Illustrated owns two of them. Generally speaking you have to be a major corporation to even think about buying one, as they're individually hand milled in Japan to the tune of about USD$80,000 each.
Thats one huge mofo.. I bet this one would attract female potters because you have a "big-size equipment" as your gear.. Maybe one day you're carrying that in case .. asking you "hmm how big is your equipment" ??

One day I was discussing the merits of Canon EOS lenses on the XL1S, and Dave Metz of CPS suggested trying out the "Big Guy" with the camcorder.
I didnt know it was compatible with camcorders, now I know .. Thats so awesome .. I would like to see the great result using that ..
