                    Well, this is my first post here. Last night, it took my wife and I a little longer to eat dinner out on the deck than usual. When she asked what I was doing, I told her ". . . dot spotting!" Her only response was, "Is that what you're calling it now?"

                    Here's what I saw;

                    7:52 United B737

                    7:56 American MD-80

                    8:07 American Eagle EMB 145

                    8:20 United B737

                    8:21 United B737

                    8:39 Alaska B737

                    8:44 Alaska MD-80

                    8:52 American West A320

                    all inbound to SFO at around 10000'

                    BTW, is there that much of difference between a 10x40 and a 10x50 pair of binoculars? I've got a 40.

                        Today 7/19:

                        USAF C141
                        SWA 737 (15)
                        AT 717 (10)
                        AA MD-80 (2)

                        That's what I've seen so far, of course it's only 3pm. And the planes aren't really "dots" at 2500ft.

                                I saw an AirTran 717 pass around 1,500 feet above my neighborhood when collecting for paper money today.
