            • Excuse me, is the Cessna 340A considered a "small prop"?
And an Extra 300? Many thanks and greetings from Italy!

Definitely small prop please. Warbird, I'm not sure. Production started in 1960 and it is still in service in China. Airframes were still being built as late as 1985. I'm assuming that you are uploading a civilian version. Check the date of manufacture on the relevant registry database.

                      • Well this particular one is from 1964. But it carries the Chinese military symbols (at least I think that's what it is). So what is the criteria, just age or if its a civilian reg with military symbols painted on?

                        • I just searched through old posts and it seems that the general consensus is that anything built before 1970 is vintage.
Be careful with aircraft painted in military schemes, especially in America and even more so in the UK as they don't have to display the civil registration although in America you will often see the civil reg in small letters on the fuselage below the horizontal stabiliser. Civil owned ex warbirds are civil genre, not military.

Just to reinforce the use of warbird/vintage...

Warbird/vintage refers to any military aircraft or ex military aircraft now civil owned which is no longer in service with the military of the country whose colours it wears.
Warbird/vintage refers to any aircraft in a museum.
Warbird/vintage refers to any civil aircraft built before 1970.

Warbird/Vintage DOES NOT refer to military aircraft currently in service with a military arm....HOWEVER.....units such as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight which are still owned by a military service DO require Warbird/Vintage. They are essentially a flying museum.

                          • Thanks Brian. I will mark it as warbird/vintage and small prop.

Should the ANA 787 be tagged as 'special c/s'? It's the only thing I can think of, or did I miss something else?
