      Related to Southwest, there have been no Airfones on board since 2001. So I would say their revenue dropped long ago.

          Ironingly, I was going to ask if anyone had insight to I phone GPS function. I've been using google maps and it's fun to track your progress. (Works in airplane mode).

          I also have an app that calculates ground speed...trouble is, it drops out shortly after lift off. It also comes and goes along with google maps while in route.

          Anyone have a theory why it always drops out at ~500 feet? it does a little better on approaches.

            try motionx gps app for iphone. you can download maps for off-line use. it does track log, ground speed, and altitude. works pretty much only if you are at a window seat.
