Nah, I don't think so. It'd be nice to have, but image storage is always in the back of my head. I have so many externals it sucks. All I need is a camera where one image takes up a whole one! My 1DMkIII put out 10MB jpegs.

I shot 14 gigs at the wedding on Saturday.

Ordered myself a new setup after having my rejection rate go from under 50% to more than 90%. I'm going to put a new, short range lens on the old Canon 350D and use it for non aviation photography. As much as I would have loved an EOS-1D Mark-III, that's a bit of my price range so something a little less expensive will have to do.

    Canon Digital Rebel XSi
Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS EF USM Lens
Sandisk ULTRA II SDHC memory card (16GB)
    Extra battery for the XSi.

I've had my Nikon D60 with 18-55 VR and 55-200 VR about 2 weeks now.

So far I've used it for a family Birthday, at the dog park, at an old historic building park, and submitted one shot to the database.

A great all around setup/camera indeed.

I'm saving for a sigma 100-500 HSM to add to the collection as use for aviation only.

Hahahah couldn't more agree !!! (But yes it's an excellent excuse )

When I see what some of you guys have I'm really really impressed. That's a LOT of equipement, and I have to admit that unless some of you are professional photographers I don't see the reason why you'de need so many lense and cameras for spotting. But you probably have very good reason and I'm just being a bit jealous.

    Personnaly I use

Good old 20D (love that camera )
350D as a spare camera so I don't have to change lenses all the time

    70-200 IS 2.8
    17-85 IS
    50mm 1.8
    extender 1.4

that's it, and works perfectly for what I do...

    Cheers
    Alex

Also I have a battery grip for my 400D.

And I have a super duper !16GB! CF card that allows me to take about 1500 RAW shots on it . Also I have a 1GB and a 4GB cards. Alex Saffe borrowed the 4GB card and it went to Switzerland with him, so now I have to go to Geneva to take it . But I don't mind spend another nice spotting weekend there.

Nikonian in 2nd generation... my dad would shoot me, or no... he would torture me to death, if I would have gone with Canon (or anything other) when I bought my first SLR
Finally got a MB-D10 battery grip with a couple of EL4e batteries
Also a Manfrotto monopod was missing from my earlier list...
and my Sandisk Extreme IV CF-cards are all 2-4GB (8 in total) - I do not like to keep all my eggs in one basket.
