  • Waddington Airshow. Where to photograph from .....

Off to Waddington on Saturday and was wondering if anyone has any tips on where to be for photography and what lens/es to use ?

I have an 18-135, 70-300 and 170-500 in the armoury.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

It's usually a bit poo in the morning as it's backlit along the crowdline, but the sun tends to swing around in the afternoon making it much more shootable. I've always stayed around the middle area. Went in the grandstand one year which was pretty decent. Fingers crossed it stays dry. I drove an hour and a half last year to be told that it was cancelled due to the field flooding and they couldn't clean the toilets.

As usual you will need to avoid the speaker poles, and lens wise, longer lenses will be needed for the flying display.
