  • Passengers get out and Push...

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...ng-runway.html

Those travelling on a Chinese Shandong airlines flight were asked to get out and push when their plane broke down after landing.
The CRJ7 plane with 69 passengers and seven aircrew flying from Guilin in the south of China to Zhengzhou broke down before it could taxi to the arrivals terminal. It had travelled 500 miles before the engine failed on the runway.
Im sure glad I wasnt on that flight!

In related news, Mesa airlines has begun a new program to save fuel....pay $50 extra to receive the privilege of being able to push the airplane out to the runway!

Firstly I apologise to those of you in the UK for linking to a downmarket rag, but the picture is amusing:

I don't think Bombardier will be using that pic in their promo's.

With the exception of 3 persons (whom all seem to be wearing military uniforms) all other are wearing uniforms - perhaps all employees of the airline? I do think that we may not be receiving the news correctly... More importantly - man, this pic makes a CRJ look huge!
Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

Am I seeing a pattern emerging here?

I say we clone Magnus Ver Magnusson and put one of them at every gate in the world. Because that would be badass.

Joe, you'd be sitting in the cockpit eating a sandwhich yelling orders out the window.

Not likely. CRJ windows don't open.

Heads up. Branson will probably steal the "idea" .. I bet they are reviewing, how much fuel they can save here.

Welcome to LHR, we have now arrived and shut down the engines. In able to save fuel, we kindly ask you to get off the plane and push it to the gate. << ----Exit are here and here ---- >>

They should not complain, they could have ended up with either a DC.4 or a Strat at some TALOA's remote station
