Been reading a bit more about the water ditching of this ill-fated DC9.

It is interesting that none of the wreckage was ever recovered. Has anyone actually attempted to go down and see what remains there today?

Would there be many like this? Wikipedia states that the plane was relatively intact.

Most interesting. Should be good if it appears on Air Crash Investigation's 6th Season.

It sank in 5000ft of water, making recovery very difficult. Given that there wasn't a question about what happened -- they ran out of fuel -- the expense of any sort of recovery was not justified.
