You got it. Sold to the Japanese as an airliner but promptly redesigned by them and turned into the Nakajima G5N bomber, hence the "sting in the tail" comment !

    Over to you.

Sorry folks for the long absence. At this time we have our final exams of the half-year term here at the university, so I was very busy studying for them .
Thx @brian for remembering me of this thread!

    So, here we go:

    I'm sorry, but no.
You are right with the element in which it taxies, but it's from the other side of the pond.
Here is a little bit more:

Still no suggestions? Come on you guys, I thought you were the experts!
The pic is as far as I know the only one which shows this type in this configuration, so let me show you a little bit more:

Well...it looks for all the world like either a Supermarine Walrus or it's predecessor/prototype, the Seagull V.

    Well, not excatly...
It's from the other side of the biiiiiig pond, which is far more wider than the maximum range of this baby and it has been built by one of the bigger companies in todays aviation. It was not a great success and only one was completed. Later it was modified and is today preserved in a museum, thats why all the newer pics of this aircraft look a little bit different.

No, it's a Fairey Gannet, a british anti-submarine warfare aircraft.
