  • Boeing's Weekly Order Updates 2010

Me thinks it's time to start this thread for the new year, in hopes that 2010 will be a lot more positive than last year *fingers crossed*.

Link to Boeing's order page is still here, and we start of the new year with...

    Undisclosed customer for 10 737s

And yeah, I'll try to be more motivated about updating this one than I was last year.

Speculating here but could Biman Bangladesh have ordered these to expand/modernize their existing fleet?

Not much of an update this week, they just identified Ethiopian as the customer behind the recent order for 10 738s.

What a time for this to come out as well, just at Ethiopian loses one of its B737-800 fleet. Good news for Boeing that Ethiopian. Wonder if this order is intended to replace the B757-200 fleet and add capacity. Seems to make sense to me what do the rest of you think.

Never heard of that carrier before, but apparently they are from Tajikistan.

Air Berlin has reduced its 787 orders from 25 to 15.

Air Berlin has agreed with U.S.-based Boeing to lower the number of firm orders of 787 aircraft from 25 to 15 and to reduce the number of options on 787 aircraft from 10 to 5.

The 10 aircraft order reduction has a current list price of about $1.7 billion.

Air Berlin said it has also delayed delivery of 9 Boeing 737 aircraft to 2015. These planes were originally scheduled for delivery in 2010 or 2011.

The changes in the order book were "mutually agreed" with Boeing to account for a change in market conditions, Air Berlin said.

"For Air Berlin, the agreement means a significant reduction of its financial obligations due to lower and much more distributed investment profile," said Ulf Huettmeyer, Air Berlin's chief financial officer.

No new orders this week but highlights from the March database update:

                          Cancellations in March: Continental 1 777-200ER -- likely converted into the three-frame 737-700 UFO order booked on March 2; V-Australia 2 777-300ER; RAK Airways 4 737

                          Conversion: Etihad 1 777-300ER to a 777F
                          LAN Airlines: 4 787-9 to 787-8, 2 767-300ER to 767-300F, also 1 767-300ER to 767-300F from a June 30, 2009 UFO order is almost certainly from LAN

Pegasus Airlines was identified as responsible for 28 737-800 UFO orders: six on March 18, 2008; 11 on July 28, 2009; and 11 more on September 30, 2009.
