  • Iraqi Airways bankrupt

Just seen this article on the BBC.

The Iraqi government says it plans to close the state-owned Iraqi Airways after declaring it bankrupt.

It's a shame to hear this as it seems they were starting to get it all together.

Sure is an untapped market there, guess good for Jordanian aviation.
Big hit for Boeing, lots of B737 and B787 on order, I think they should rethink
their strategy and go for less prestigous aircrafts like Antonov, ARJ and Tupolev,
    harder to sell off.
"The real CEO of the 787 project is named Potemkin"

In fairness, it lasted longer then I thought it would. Shame though.

Yes, the old Iraqi Airways had 2 SPs, though one was often commandeered for government use. One of them is now parked in Tunisia (has been there, I think, since the 1991 Gulf War), the other is a wreck in Baghdad.
