Does anyone know for sure if wheel and tire balancing is done for jetliners? You know, like the method used with weights for automotive tires? It seems to me that an aircraft tire, if balanced. would go out of balance quickly anyway when the tire hits the runway during landing and smokes off rubber at the moment of contact while the tire meets the runway?
I can only talk about the F4 and tornado fast jets and the tyres are balanced during manufacture and so are the rims, the tyres are marked and this is put next to the valve. you would be surprised on how even the tyres wear!
