Some of the media is reporting the tail "fell off" before landing because that is what KTVU said.

However, it sounds from other reports it sounds like the tail struck the ground upon landing and that is when it broke off, not in while still in the air.

Seating figurations on the Asiana´s tripple-7s,
For your next Asiana flight, use this seating chart to get the most comfortable seats, legroom, and recline on .

There is a comment with that Twit Pic that it " barely ( maybe not ) missed " the other plane in the photo.

              Sad news

Only the second 777 ever to be written off; hopefully still non-fatal, though reported that many taken to hospital.

The CNN "expert" is claiming it's a -200LR.

And now it's the parade of eyewitnesses who don't have a clue what they're talking about.

You survive a plane crash and then have to tweet about it. Jeez.

Despite the witness on CNN, you can clearly see the left wing is still attached.

Im grateful for the news that he brought.

And that picture is better than a grey sky and smoke that you see on CNN .

Clearly happened later since the early pictures showed no fire damage to the fuselage.

And both wings are still attached it appears.

Also, looks like even most of the tail is attached, at least the part where people would have been.

Eyewitness to plane crash says that the plane "started shaking violently" after it hit ground, tail was ripped off, and it "rolled over."

                              Cartwheeled ?
