  • MAS contemplating a 777-200 replacement...

Malaysian Air is considering both Boeing and Airbus SAS jets for the order and will take a decision on the manufacturer and type of planes in the first quarter of 2014, said the person, who asked not to be identified as the information is private. The carrier aims to add the new planes starting 2017, the person said.

So what do you think? Does the 777X project have something that small, or will customers be pushed to the 787 line instead? The A350 project would be a great offer, as it would provide commonality with the A380 program.
Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

I think that with the A380 and new A330s already in service with MH, the A350 has to be favoured here; the A359 is probably most likely, but the -1000 would also be possible down the road, for busy routes which don't quite require the A380.
