  • Compression in the sky?

How does one deal with "compression in the sky" on a later afternoon shot with a 30Mpxl camera?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Hi,
I would say that the compassion visible in the sky is most probably caused by some filters you use in your editing process. I've noticed that pretty much all filters (like Nik Collection) apply from a little to a ton of compression in areas like sky.

    Regards
    Alex

It was edited in Photoshop. What do you have to do to even see it? I'm not even sure what I'm looking for.

      Thanks

        Hi,

There's a kind of circular banding halo in the sky. I've marked with red lines where you can really see it, as jagged blocky transitions of color in the sky.

As Alex said, almost certainly a result of some filter or other; possibly something like applying shadow/highlight, clarity, or some other such setting.
