I wonder how and on what ground they choose the picture from Jetphotos to show on there site.
Last month about six pictures of mine were chosen.
Nice of course and I like it to see them but as said on what grounds.
hi,
It's the latest picture published (by photo date not by upload date) - Some categories are excluded from FR24 or some particular shots (close-ups/silhouettes/face to face view)

I'm guessing wingviews are also excluded. Is that correct?
Also, let's not forget there's an option for the photo to not appear on FR24.

Hi,
Just to confirm, we do not manually select which photos to show. The Flightradar site and apps automatically select photos from the Jetphotos database based on aircraft registration. As mentioned above, certain categories such as close-ups and wing views are by default not shown.
Typically "clean" shots of the outside of the aircraft are most likely to be shown.

Hi Laurence / all,
Just wondering how does the system know if an image is a close-up? Using some kind of algorithm? as there isn't a close-up category.
Hi Laurence / all,

Yes, algorithm is something like:
IF
--- IMAGE(I) IS CLOSEUP THEN
------ IMAGE(I) REJECT
------ SEARCH IMAGE(I+1)
--- ELSE
------ USE IMAGE (I)
END IF
--- Judge what is said by the merits of what is said, not by the credentials of who said it. ---
--- Defend what you say with arguments, not by imposing your credentials ---
IF
--- IMAGE(I) IS CLOSEUP THEN
------ IMAGE(I) REJECT
------ SEARCH IMAGE(I+1)
--- ELSE
------ USE IMAGE (I)
END IF
Not quite like that. More like...
IF
---- SCREENER MANUALLY SEES IMAGE(I) CLOSE UP THEN
---- SCREENER MANUALLY GOTO CHECKBOX NOT FOR FR24
---- ELSE SCREENER ACCEPT USE FOR FR24 USE IMAGE(I)
END IF
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
