Default More airlines begin using Iraq air space

British Airways and Etihad are now routing flighhts through eastern Iraq, EY is the only Gulf carrier not serrving Iraq as all three of their desstinatons were suspended for security concerns.

In November GCAA declared the area safe leading to Emirates and Flyduai begin using it for Europe services.

Qatar Airways started using it from June after ban from Saudi and Egypt air space. Various Turkish carriers incluuding TK also began usng Iraq since a year or more despite it being considered unsafe.

All of the above continue to operate through western Iran at the same time.

What about use of Iraqi airports as alternates or diversion points ? Guess it would depend on the severity of the problem.
