    They are 2 different planes.
One has the rejection that the registration is wrong (uploaded in queue as TC-JRV but should be TC-JTM)
The other is fine and dandy (TC-JRV)

The error is only in the first photo - not the second.
You are penalizing the second when the first is subject to the error (and has been correctly rejected).
Unfortunately you will need to upload the image(s) again. When screening, the system simply checks if there is another image with the same reg. in the DB/queue, and displays a thumbnail if selected. The incorrect reg. on the second image caused the system to flag the first one, which if seen from the thumbnail would definitely qualify as similar.

Roger dodger Dana thanks for the help - will upload both (with more attention)

      • Well screeners I have come to the conclusion that behind closed doors, there is a team in dark suits that decides the following.
Accept 20 or 30 photos and reject the next 5 or 10 (regardless if the photo is fine). This trend is normal. The rejections make no sense. And furthermore one can only appeal one rejection per day.

I hope you understand that I am kidding...but my latest rejections seem like the motifs are quite random and subject to opinion.

        • This says OVEREXPOSED. I do not agree since the metering of the camera was perfectly aligned.

Just a remark on the first two I checked:
JetPhotos.com is the biggest database of aviation photographs with over 5 million screened photos online!

CLEARLY overexposed, no matter what the metering in your camera says. Check the histogram, if you don't believe it.

JetPhotos.com is the biggest database of aviation photographs with over 5 million screened photos online!

Green-ish colour cast. Could also have to do, that your photos are saved without any embedded colour space. Different browsers will render the colours in a different way.

Does that mean you talked to 20 different people or the same 4 who repeated themselves?

If the latter, you might want to stop asking them for advice on color, as there is clearly a green/cyan cast as Geri indicated. You know you have had issues with color in the past, so why is it so surprising that you are having them again? To resolve the issue, how are you selecting the white balance? Are you doing it manually, or do you have it set to auto?

I do not agree with the metering / histogram issue. It is a one way street so no matter how much I argue you will not agree.
As for the color issue I also do not agree. This time, unlike the other times, it is borderline. But once again I know you will not agree.

Geri says that my photos might be saved without any embedded colour space. I save them as RAW in my computer and open them with photoshop using the guidelines detailed here in the JP forums.
Sure I might be a dumb spotter using automatic whitebalance... but the damage is done. So what do you suggest? Stop uploading the rest of my photos until I start using manual whitebalance?

If that is in fact what is causing the issues, then perhaps yes, or at least until you learn how to set the appropriate WB. Shooting automatic/manual WB is irrelevant if you're processing from RAW files, as the WB is very simple to adjust after the fact. If you want to avoid the frustration you are quite obviously having, you need to decide if you want to take the time to figure why you are not seeing the colors correctly.

I guess that you are not a school teacher.
Saying I need to sit down and figure out my problem - is truly not a constructive approach.
You can very well see that despite my many times asking for help - I get vague answers. I have asked more than once if there is something or somewhere in Photoshop that can correct this issue.

This is why I am annoyed. I am trying to learn but not receiving the help I need. You said it clearly "the WB is very simple to adjust after the fact" - how?
If for some reason you prefer not to tell me - just say so - and I will stop bothering you here in the forum.

                    • I'm not so sure.. your previous two posts seemed more intent on trying to convince that there was no problem with the color. Now you are prepared to admit that there is in fact an issue? Like I said above, you need to be able to see that there is a problem before beginning to fix it. Telling you the steps in adjusting the WB (actually just one step) would be pointless if you didn't know what or why you were doing it. I'd be happy to take a look at one of the RAW files of the rejected images and reprocess it so the color comes out better.

If you tell me the steps of where to fix the issue would be helpful.
First of all is there a histogram or chart or function of Photoshop that shows me instantly the problem. As I have told you many times, my eyes cannot see what your eyes see.
I need something that is a neutral ground and tells me.
It is like telling a sleepy person to always wake up at 6:00am. They will say my body cannot do that, I need help. That is where the alarm clock steps in to help.
Is there a video on YouTube I can watch that might help?
All I need to know is if a photo has that color hue problem - how do I recognize using a tool of Photoshop which is 99% accurate when my eyes are not?

By the way I am still convinced my photos are fine.... that is why I am kindly asking to show me where I can see the issue that.... I cannot see

Unfortunately I have yet to come across a reliable way to objectively measure color. There is of course the RGB histogram, but I don't find it too useful for judging anything other that very strong color casts. As the problem is not one of my creation (the above color rejections were from multiple other screeners than myself, so it's not just me seeing the bad color), that means it's one of two things: either your monitor/workspace color profile is not set or calibrated properly, or it's simply your own eyes. Do you have any past issues with color blindness? It tends to affect males more often, and we have had cases in the past where we've discovered the root of an uploader's problems with color casts came down to them being color blind, so it wouldn't be the first time. If the former, make sure your working space color profile is set to sRGB (and that your browser is color correcting as well), since if it is set to something else, what you see when editing the images, may differ from what you end up submitting. I suspect this is not the case, however, as you keep arguing that the rejected images are fine, which means you are looking at the same final version that we are.

As I suggested, probably the best way would be for me to reprocess the image(s) to something acceptable, so you have some reference point to compare to.

I would not say I am colorblind. I do not see the world black and white. I have difficulty with the ishihara test, I cannot distinguish easily red and green when bunched together in small dots like this ridiculous test.
I can see the RGB histogram fine and well, but I do not know if there is something there that would alert me to a green / red hue on the fuselage.

As for my computer / photoshop / browser here is the rundown:
I use a Nikon D600 and save the image as RAW (a NEF file for Nikon)
I open the RAW (NEF) file in my computer (Windows 10) with Nikon View NX2 and analyze it as RAW
Then I pass it to Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw 9.1.1 opens up
Here I rarely do anything except one thing. In the Lens Correction tab I Enable Lens Profile Corrections
Then I hit Open Image and the popup message comes along telling me to "Convert document's colors to the working space"
Finally I am in Photoshop and check the usual baloney: Horizon, crop, levels, contrast, etc....
I save it as JPG and upload it to JP

That is my story....anything fishy in my procedure....besides my unrealiable eyes?

Thank you for being honest enough to admit you do have some issues with color perception. My question was not whether you could see colors at all, but rather if perhaps there were some difficulties in distinguishing certain of them, which indeed seems to be the case. With that said, I don't really have a good solution for you. Whenever I spot a problem with color on an image, it's always by eye. Like I said, I'm more than happy to work one of your files so you have reference as to what should be acceptable, but beyond that there's not much in the way of settings to help accommodate this issue. Setting the correct (or incorrect) color space will matter little if you're not really seeing the colors correctly in the first place.

I'm leaving on a trip soon, so it may take me a while to get back to you, but feel free to message me privately if you'd like to take me up on my offer.

Not sure what the problem is for this rejection - so I appealed.

My appeal was rejected with this comment which confuses me even more
"It needs darker mid-tones. In addition it lacks detail due to the (over)use of noise filter"

Lacks detail? Are you sure? Looks the same if not better than other TC-JJO pictures accepted.
Sorry fellas...I am really confused here
