Does anyone here know a website that gathers a database of up-to-date information of airplanes with special paintings?

Yes. As Erwin says, just visit the jetphotos front page. There at the top is the jetphotos search engine, which is helpful if you know at least one little detail of the bird which you are lookin for:
aircraft type (e.g. 747)
or
airline
or
country.... or airport, or.. maybe even three keywords for the special scheme are enough. Don't know what the jp searching engine says if you write "Iron Maiden 747", haven't tried that yet.
The last bird which I found, was a 747. I wrote "NorthWest" and the database gave me .. alot. Then I used the "modify search" knob. If you also do so, you should among others find the "category" field as a drop down menu. Then "Special Paint Schemes".The German long haul is alive, 65 years and still kicking.
