How can you tell if a photo is soft? And how can you resize images without compression? Thanks.

How can you tell if a photo is soft?

There should be a sharp contrast between transition lines. This most easily seen where there are hard transitions like around the titles, reg., cheat lines, etc..

And how can you resize images without compression? Thanks.

Set the quality to maximum with whatever software you are using.
