Then I will just sharpen a little bit more on the USM one.
Is the highpass one fixable or is highpass just not as good for sharpening?

I have a second question which might be pretty obvious but I don’t understand/ know the answer for:

For the USM I used around 100% and Radius of 0,3. When I now have the full-size version, do I have to apply more or less sharpening and what’s about the radius. I know, every image is different but is there a general rule?

    Many thanks

    Jonas
Probably different for each person/image. I do have a standard setting, but I adjust it if a particular image needs more or less sharpening.

Can you tell me your basic settings (small and full-size version) or is it a kind of success secret?

      Cheers

No secret, but as I've tried to make clear, what works for a certain image/resolution/workflow is no guarantee it will work in a different context. My USM settings are generally in the 50-100%/0.5-1.0 range, depending on the situation.

I have got the photo from somewhere above rejected.
          Is this really dark?!

Please tell me if I should appeal this.

          Cheers Jonas

Maybe a touch soft, but definitely not dark. You can appeal if you like, but please use your own reasoning rather than something like "Dana in the forum said it's ok, so..."

1: still blurry, mainly towards the tail
2: contrast is still off. The aircraft looks OK, but the bright clouds in the background are too distracting.
                              3: dark
                              4: still lacking contrast
