  • Supreme Airlines Cessna 208 Grand Caravan Over Shoots Runway

Nine people had a narrow escape at Lalgarh Airport when a Supreme Airlines aircraft overshot the Runway. As per the reports, the Pilots reported a flock of birds on the air strip which led to the incident.

DGCA Safety Department has already initiated the investigation to find out the root cause of the incident. However, Supreme Airlines CEO Ammeet K Agarwal said no one was injured in the mishap and there was no serious damage to the property.

The flight, which was coming from Jaipur, had seven passengers and two pilots onboard. “Since the runway length is only 3,000 feet, after overshooting the runway, the aircraft hit the boundary wall. No passenger or pilot has been hurt. There is no severe damage to any property, including the aircraft,” Agarwal said.

The Lalgarh airport is owned by the Rajasthan government and is operated by the Airports Authority of India.

I think you have to be impressed with the 206*'s behavior in this- and perhaps there's some language-barrier-adjective-bending in the descriptions.

You are correct: Probably extremely high-dollar propeller, engine and fuselage damage...

      CONVERSELY

The thing is not shredded into tiny shards of aluminum- and the nosewheel is standing pretty strong (admittedly bent a little bit back)...pretty impressive.

And probably not too much $ to do a little masonry work on the wall.

      *Edit: Recto-cranial inversion C-208...Not to be confused with AT-802 nor a 747-800
