I doubt higher resolution will make things better, as that usually makes the flaws much more apparent.

so i had a go with a bit more sharpening and a 1920x1080 form now, is it still soft or is it okay for 1920 PX?

No, this would be rejected for blurry/oversharpened. Perhaps you didn't read my post above?

No.2 looks overprocessed, over exposed
No. 3 borderline dark and soft, also a tad dirty
No. 4 borderline contrast
