General question to Bobby/ATL/Dummy:
Is there a commercial aircraft around that would need a 14,000 ft runway for normal operations?
Trying to figure out why they exist at a lot of airports...(and let's leave Denver out of it- some freighter to Australia with full tanks and 110 degree temperatures, maybe...but what about low places like ORD, DFW...
The 747-Space Shuttle Piggy Back rig came to Flyover a few times in it's history- we have a 12,000 footer- not sure if it had to use that runway or not and I imagine it might not have needed all that much fuel.
How often does an 8000 ft runway limit commercial operations?...9000 ft?
