  • Nikon camera and lens suitability.

OK then. A couple of questions arise. Thanks to a rather sizeable PPI refund I am looking at purchasing a Nikon D810 FX format body.

Question 1. Does anyone have any comments regarding this camera ?

Question 2. I have a Nikon 28-300 f3.5 - f5.6 ED VR Lens. Am I correct in saying that this is suitable for the FX format. ?
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

if it is the AF-S Nikkor 28-300 1/3.5-5.6 ED VR than it is suitable for FX Format.
DX Format is named: AF-S DX.

The Nikon AF-S 28-300mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED VR is suitable for the FX sensor.

It is a fantastic camera (I own the D800) but the sensor eats lenses for lunch and it demands perfect technique. You start to see the difference between VR on and off on shutter speeds above 1/1000th, which I never saw on other cameras. Creating slight unintended motion blur is easy with it as well, just move a bit too much when hitting the shutter. It is fantastic but also unforgiving when it comes to technique.
