    Default Poor choice in tail numbers?

    apparently, air canada has a 777 with the tail number C-FITW.

    someone was not thinking straight....

    Could you enlighten me please? What's particularly weird in FITW again? There's 24 different C-FIT* in the canadian register. And C-GFIT and C-IFIT (but not C-FFIT) as well. So? Thanks mate!

    CFIT is an aviation acronym for Controlled Flight Into Terrain.

    That was not my question. Why is the letter W ending this well known abbreviation any poorer than C-FITA, C-FITB,... guess you just didn‘t think of these others?

    i didn't actually look into whether CFIT? was a tail number for any aircraft. i read a report about C-FITW and found it strange. nothing more.

    you can go back to relaxing now

    Nolinair (or some backwoods carrier up there) has a 732 C-OMFG.

    While in Brazil ultralight aircraft carry the registration prefix PU. And yes, someone did register theirs PU-Sierra Sierra Yankee.

    Take any N-number ending with four Quebec, and then abbreviate it, but don't get phonetic on the letters...

    Does ATC still abbreviate N-numbers?

    Canadian registrations (except ultralights) start with C-F or C-G only. Even the backwoods ones.

    Indeed. That airplane is actually registered C-GMAB. They have another one, C-GTFO.

    Maybe there's a Mirage 2000D of french Air Force with F-Uniform Charlie Kilo Uniform (french M2000 fighters are F-Uxxx).

    Maybe...

    Code F-UCKU does not exist in the French Air Force.

    I saw a 727 photo once and its registration ended in Alpha-Sierra-Sierra
