  • What plane operated the route CX883 (LAX-HKG) in 2006? (Cathay Pacific)

I do not know if this is the right place to ask, but I am trying to figure out the plane (registration would be too hard) operated CX 883 in January of 2006.

This was the first flight I ever took, and I am trying to find a 1:200 model to commemorate it.

The flight was CX883, the route was LAX-HKG, and it was on January 2,2006.

I have boarding pass pictures, but they are a little faded.

    Thanks for any help

What a brilliant topic. And you received an answer within.. less than 24 hours? By a man who is longer here than me?
15 years. And he managed to find the way back to this platform. Lucky guy you.

Yes. Peter has given the answer. But what if I'm able to confirm that. Let me have a try.
[First of all I try to use the first name, if a member publishes it. Say something if that's not ok for you.]

Cathay Pacific received the first Boeing 747 anno 1979, type CX-B747-200. That's the year when they joined the 747 club, as I say. And I heard something through the grapevine, they quite fast again sold their last B742 (passage version), already in 1999. So, let's be precise. What type is the threadstarter lookin for. Only 1 is possible, after all what I've read so far.

CX-B744 passage. What else. Member of the CX fleet between 1989 and 2016.

Peter, confirmed. Here it is. That's quite a brilliant database, which we sit on, isn't it.
CX-B744 on her way home. Airport: no explanation needed, December 2005.

The German long haul is alive, 65 years and still kicking.
The Gold Member in the 747 club, 50 years since the first LH 747.
And constantly advanced, 744 and 748 /w upper and lower EICAS.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, and I apologize for my really belated reply. I’m happy that I can say I’ve flown on the queen of the skies. (I don’t remember it though) Now I need to find me a 1:200 scale model.

Yes, I am quite lucky. Also lucky that I was able to fly on Cathay’s Queen, as they retired them. Hopefully I can find a model. I’m happy that LAX still gets 747s, Lufthansa’s 748 is supposed to be coming as well!
