I only see 2 and 4 and both are - and will always be - borderline backlit, i.e. with large areas in its own shadow, a bright background and overall lacking contrast.
I think I'm running into a term disagreement again then...
Neither is backlit to me... Indirectly lit yes but the sun was most definitely not behind the subjects which is backlit.
But it seems your use of the term is applied to a high or indirect sun position... And it's fine just confusing since a backlit subject is a specific thing in photographic courses where the light source is fully behind the subject. In both cases here the sun was high and slightly ahead of the subject and slightly behind me (mid day). If the meaning here is if the lighting is not fully direct then that's fine but it's not what I was taught it meant.
And yes 5 didn't upload apparently... I'll do it again when I can.
I'm confused about 4 and 5 being dirty but I'll check again... my eyes are not as good as they used to be. Though if 4 looks overprocessed then I'll probably abandon that shot since I did very little processing to it. I have a run of others for it.
1 the horizon... The building I used is cropped out but I'll switch to a different shot in that set if it looks off.
