  • AB 320neo CG issue

See here for one part of the story:
    https://onemileatatime.com/lufthansa-blocking-seats-center-of-gravity/

Also they have an issue with baggage - the fwd hold can't be emptied until passengers have deplaned. This may pose a problem at more remote airports where baggage handlers may not be up to date on procedures.

Issue will be fixed a with software update.

    Great post.

    I find it disturbing.

Maybe not as bas as MCAS, but really, what could go wrong...

Seems like a primitive way to solve an ELAC problem. What happens if biz class is half empty? Do they assign seats by pax weight? Are we pushing the efficiency envelope a bit too far these days?

I really don't understand this. Aircraft can be put out of CG, they are not CG-proof. Dispatchers and pilots are responsible for that.

It happens from time to time that an airplane is dispatched with the CG out of limits due to uneven cargo/luggage load or uneven passenger seating. There were a few cases, for example, where the airplane with under-the-wing engines had a super-low-speed tail strike when it pitched up the moment that take-off thrust was applied.

The restriction of CG can be done procedurally (as in every other plane) without the need to block the last row.

At the same time, I don't see how blocking the last row will guarantee that the CG limit is not exceeded.

FAC problem, actually. It now seems there is some disagreement on whether the problem even exists.
