  • halos after importing the RAW file

    Hi everyone.
    Today I would like to ask for advice regarding a problem that has always plagued me and that forces me to discard some shots or to receive discards here on JP.
    Looking at the example file, you can clearly see the halos.
    However this problem occurs only after importing from RAW camera to photoshop. Please note that the workflow is as follows:
    1) RAW file
    a-exposure correction;
    b- contrast correction;
    c- application sharpen;
    d-lens distortion correction;
    and- only if necessary eliminating haze.
    2) Photoshop
    a- photo cutout 1200x800 or 1280x800 px;
    b- correction of tonal values;
    c- removing dust and stains.
    Maybe the explanation has already been given in some other 3D, but sorry if I can't find any trace, also because of my bad English.
    The version of camera RAW I use is 11.4.1 while photoshop is 19.0. Mac OS Mojave

    Whatever your workflow stay off:

    Highlights, Shadows, Contrast (only very very little is harmless) and Dehaze sliders.

    Seems like b. is the key

      Thanks.
      What do you mean with the key it seems the correction of the contrast?
      I set this parameter to max 10.
      The curve uses the "average" value

        It seems that the problem is attributable to the unsharp mask. I found it by doing one correction at a time.
        That said, I usually use these values:
        factor 85 to 95
        radius 1.3 or 1.4
        80% masking
