Thanks Dana. I know I said last try last time - but - I edited it a little more for the nose and wanted to try one more time with either of these two because it's a first reg for the DB - so - this (promise) is the last time.

Hi Mark, as much as I hate it, both photos still look a bit blurry. I also checked if it was only on one side, which could be a hint to a problem with the lens, but ... nope. I don't know, if that is a problem with the lens. It's maybe simply too much zoom, maybe it was a bit windy for a handheld photo at 420mm. Who knows ....

Agree with Geri, looks like lens softness & heat haze are combining to cause some problems, and the images are starting to look oversharpened now as you try to compensate. I'd be they don't look too great at 100% crop..

Thanks Geri and Dana - there is definitely an issue with the leas as I have started to find it is rocking on the body a little bit - so - that is one thing to sort out, but also, it was a really hot day and I think that while shooting over a lot of open space, it has introduced some other issues. I will find better conditions, etc. I appreciate all the help!!!

Just wanted to check this image please - I'm thinking that the (top) backlit might be an issue but wanted to confirm yes or no - could I get a pre-screen please?

              Thanks

The backlight kills it, as you guessed already.

Is this a contrast rejection? Or is is okay?

I'd be more concerned about the heat haze, but the contrast would be borderline acceptable for me.

Thanks Dana - I'll try and find another in the set with less heat haze.

Could i get a prescreen on this please - I'm hoping that it's not backlit - or any other issues?

Noisy, and a bit blurry. I'm going to guess it was a significant crop.

Yes it was - I'll see if there is another in the set closer. Thanks Dana.

Would this version be more acceptable?
