  • Taking Pic From Moving AC w/Nikon D80

Equipment: Nikon D80 with Sigma 300mm lens and a 30-70mm lens.
    Experience: Very little.
Never used this camera before, can I expect to figure it out and take some decent shots from the air?
    Suggestions on settings?
    Thanks

From a Boeing 747 or Cessna 152? It's too broad of a question.

Small plane, not sure which one, maybe a Caravan.
Possibly will do some sight seeing in a helicopter also.
All shots will be to the ground, no air to air shots.

Probably shouldn't have to much of a problem really. I'd open the door if you could so you're not shooting through glass.

If you're planning on taking shots to include the aircraft wing, i.e. the "wing view" shots that we see in the database here, then a 300mm may be a little too "long".

For shots of ground objects such as someones house then 300 should be OK but it may well be worth having a shorter zoom lens such as an 18-135 or 70-200/300.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
