As per this mysterious teaser on Canon's US website, it shows a silhouette of a camera with the words 'Destined Evolution'
Hinting towards a possible EOS 5D replacement
FF is a mixed bag for spotting anyway. You loose the crop factor, you get problems with vignetting on many more lenses, for which you get more MPs and less noise. I tried a D700 and honestly I would take the D300 over it for spotting anytime.
For shoooting rock bands in a dark bar, it is a totally different thing though.

I'd take a box brownie over a Nikon!
But in al seriousness i do agree with you, for shooting reportage, low light, portraits and other stuff like that a FF beats all.
For action and sports i'd choose my 1.3x or 1.6x anyday.
Ah donīt be so hard to us guys on the slow side of things. I mean finally we get a D300 with decent high ISO performance and a FF camera, something Canon users enjoy for a loooonnnnng time.
I'm holding onto my 30D for another year or two. I don't see any reason to replace it, even with the 50D. The 30D takes top notch shots so no need to spend on a new body. I think we all to often get caught up in these new bodies when IMO if you already have a proven body that you are getting the desired results from take the money and buy some good glass.
