US Airways gets its 1st CRJ700
US bought the CRJ-700s and 705s obviously because of the fleet commonality with the CRJ-200s. The Embraers were bought because they wanted a plane that was more like a mainline plane and less like an RJ, plus it gives US the oprion to later order EMB-190s and don't have much additional costs. But from a current point of view it makes no sense. The Embraers mean a new plane, with a new cockpit, new engines, other new MX stuff etc., so currently it really doesn't make sense. If US grows bigger again, it would be a different story though.

Check your spelling also
There is also a difference between US Airways and US Airways express
Just what they need is ANOTHER aircraft type.
I heard it from a friend at school!
