I see The Christchurch Engine Centre is going to start to build the new MRO facility for the next generation V2500 (A1 - A5) and say the facility will be open in early 2004. (just after the arrival of Air New Zealands first Airbus 320). Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand Ltd began this joint venture in April 2001, to provide engine overhaul and repair services for all Pratt & Whitney JT8D, Rolls-Royce Dart and International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 engines. They have customers ranging from Fed-ex and Hawian airlines to DHL and Airwork New Zealand.

I wish they would start a line for the Pratt & Whitney Canada -127 engine which unfortunately they do not do here in Christchurch.

    Regards,
    Sam Collins

    Interesting...

Gee I can't wait until NZ gets those A320's, they'll look great in ANZ colors.

        Hi,
Air New Zealand have 15 A320-200's on order in which 5 will be leased and they also placed options for another 20.
