I was just reading an interesting article in the NY Times about the re-branding of Aeroflot, and it seems very interesting. However, the description of the airline before this transformation is absolutely horrific. I know one person who flew on Aeroflot about 5 years ago, and she loved it because she was allowed to smoke and was upgraded to first class. I was curious if anyone has ever had an Aeroflot experience, or an experience with another carrier that was absolutely dreadful.

A few years back I flew a Saudia L1011 in Economy class. It wasn't a pleasant experience. The plane was very old, the seats were uncomfortable, and old. The entire ride was a very bumpy one and the stewardesses weren't very friendly. Thank goodness it was only an hour-long flight.... -
I think the late and unlamented NationAir Canada (see my description of the flights in Flight Reports under Worst Trip) was on a par with Aeroflot. Thank goodness it does not exist anymore.
