    How long have they had that same color scheme? Shouldn't they change it by now?
    Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

    They have had the same colorscheme for as a long as I can remember, ever since they got jet planes at least.
    And there is definitely no need to change it. There is something about the German charter market you have to know: We have a tendency towards liking traditions, and that includes the appearance of an airline. Remember Thomas Cook Germany? No, you likely don't, and why? Because they are trading as Condor again, after management realized that rebranding a traditional airline like Condor was a mistake that cost them hundreds of thousands of customers, and millions of Euros. So, keep LTU like it is, and not make it another .com airline, like HapagFly.com

      In the 90ies LTU came up with a new livery that was more white whti a reduced red tail and red cheatline. Customers however wanted the old colors back and after some protests the idea of a new livery was dropped.

      With the A320s they tried another new experimental scheme.

      The logo jets resembel the planed livery a bit.

      And then there was

      [photoid=41141]

      and

      [photoid=199708]

      and the 2002 test

      [photoid=4271]

      even worse variant

        It's a pity some of the English charters changed their livery, Britannia needed to but they went from bad to worse, Thomas Cook and JMC were equally as good, First Choice was definitly a bad move, should of stayed as Air 2000

          i actually thought Britannia had one of the best color schemes. Their new livery is disgusting.

            LTU Süd was not planned as a livery for the whole LTU fleet but some planes recieved it for special destinations.

              Interestingly things are at a standstill, the 332s are in original colors, introduced by the Caravelle, then perenized by the Tristar, MD11 and 333 while sole 320s fly the horrible 2002 test. Cross your fingers to see the first keep flying !!!

                  Olympic changed their colors in the 90's, when they started getting A340s :

                    I think Olympic has one of the nicest schemes out there. It's elegant, colourful, and professional. They shouldn't change a thing IMO.
