    That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean, if they cannot get compensation for the delay then the only other option would be to threathen to cancel and then get Airbus to beg for you to stay. Major monetary compensation is almost necessary to keep certain customers. Also, someone rasied a very interesting point -If EK were to drop the A380 order then most of the other csr's would be given better delivery slots and therefore minimiling the wait. Maybe Airbus will throw a few free A350s and a maybe a free A380 in exchange for later delivery slots...
    Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

      I think a hypothetical Emirates cancellation would not necessarily result in other customer getting earlier delivery slots, effectively negating the production delays. The interiors of the A380 are highly customized to each carrier. It is this high level of variation that is one of the main causes of the delays. Moving up deliveries could overtax the already stressed interiors pipeline.
