In addition to other info, does anybody with connections know when the first ASA bird is going to be pained in the 2007 colors? I would like to see one at my home airport (AVL) since it only recieves ASA, Chautauqua , and I don't know about Comair.

Service just started this Tuesday with Embraer 145s w/winglets between SFO and LAX. So far, the flight has been in the new colors every day. And they look hideous in person IMO.

Indeed, though all the XJE ERJs had yet to be painted into DL's colors anyway, as they were still in COEX or XJET colors. Ignore them, and the regular fleet is being repainted rather slowly.

Update

I actually think that the new livery looks quite nice. I have also found out the the first MD-88 jet goes in on Monday and comes out on the 9th and Big Sky Airlines will be painting their B1900s in Delta Connection colors for ops out of BOS.

As much as I'd like the livery to change, I don't see it happening.

The new livery is OK, I much prefer the widget myself. It's going to be a while before every plane in DL's fleet has the new colours--there's still some ron allen C/S out there at ATL.

Bring back the widget, but not sideways! Does anyone else notice that almost all of the new liverys have more and more white on them?

Delta is trying to get all of the Song birds and the Ron Allen paints into paint before the rest of the fleet. In fact, the first two 757-200 were Song and Ron Allen paint.

I have been unable to get my hands on a schedule for the repaint but I do know that by next spring all Song and Ron Allen livery will be gone...those two liveries and new aircraft (757's from AA) are top priority for now..all others will be painted when in for regular maintenance over the next 4 years...

I still hate the lopsided circumcised Widget, but it aint going away any time soon so I just gotta get used to it...luckily it doesnt make its way to PBI that often so I get a break from it...hahahaha...

Speaking from a beancounter's perspective, it is cheaper than a multicolored livery, weighs less and as such can reduce fuel burn, even if it's just a small margin.

that 763 is not a 767-300ER it is a 767-300 non ER

Delta MD-88

I have found out that the MD-88 has been pulled and will not be painted until later. I have no idea why.
