  • SQ's 747's

Since Singapore Airlines is progressively taking their 747's out of service, is there a possibility that they will go to other airlines or just go to the scrapper? I know that El Al recently bought one off of SQ for about 50 mil. Any others doing that? Maybe UA?

SQ has a habit of using very new aircraft, so I bet other airlines will buy the rest of the SQ 747-400s.

Some will go to a Modification Center for a Passenger to Freighter Conversion. Future 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighters. It's in the news if you look around for it. Pprune has it as I recall.

It would be good if PIA would get rid of their 743's and buy a few from SQ.At least they will in much better condition and not stand a risk of being banned again from the UK.

That would of course depend on just how well PIA would handle them .

Too right.Although part of the blame should go to some of the passengers.

Hmmm, that's interesting...will SQ convert some of their 744's into freighters after they have been replaced by the A380?

PIA not interested in 747s anymore, and phasing out their own too, they are not even opertaing regular flights since last week only erratic services to Riyadh and three doemstic cities.
