A bit of a good news for the airline industry in deep-freeze. Cathay Pacific is seeing the New Zealand market largely unaffected and demand of winter travel (northern hemishere winter) for 2009 picking up as usual. Thus, the airline is increasing its HongKong-Auckland service back to 2-daily in the winter of 2009. Cathay Pacific has been running the increased schedule to Auckland seasonally for the last few years. This year, it's running this seasonal increase again unaffected by the economy.
Moreover, one of the daily flights will be upgraded to 747-400 from A340-300.
