    Vietnam 777-200 service to SFO

    Does anyone know when Vietnam will begin operating to SFO?

      I think Vietnam doesn't have a bilateral with US that would allow VN into US (or US carriers into Vietnam) yet.

      The current bilateral only allows code share operations by VN and US airlines between Vietnam and US.

        To clear up some confusion, Vietnam is supposed to begin service from Ho Chi Minh City to SFO and LAX in the near future, operating 777-200's. There was a large procession welcoming Vietnam to the US in San Francisco recently (One of Vietnam's 777-200's was at SFO on this day). Vietnam's website also shows SFO and LAX as destinations on their route map. Does anyone actually know when Vietnam will begin operations to SFO?
